Bronchodilator Reversibility

Overview
Bronchodilator reversibility is indicative of asthma, though some reversibility may be present in COPD.
How to Assess
- Perform spirometry before and after administering a bronchodilator - usually salbutamol.
Interpretation
- Significant reversibility is defined as a 12% or >200mL increase in FEV₁ or FVC after bronchodilator.
