Overview

Bronchodilator reversibility is indicative of asthma, though some reversibility may be present in COPD.
  • How to Assess

  • Perform spirometry before and after administering a bronchodilator - usually salbutamol.
  • Interpretation

  • Significant reversibility is defined as a 12% or >200mL increase in FEV₁ or FVC after bronchodilator.
