- A reduction in lung markings in an area where lung markings would be expected.
Causes of Reduced Lung Markings
- Pneumothorax
- Emphysematous bulla

Pulmonary Bullae
Look For
- Thin-walled, air-filled spaces with loss of lung markings.
Bullae with air-fluid levels may be infected.
Significance
- A sign of emphysema.
