Overview
Stomatocytes, also known as mouth cells, contain a central slit of pallor (like a mouth) due to overhydration of the cell.
Causes of Stomatocytosis
- Hereditary stomatocytosis
- Alcohol abuse
- Rh null phenotype
- Hypoalphalipoproteinaemia
