Overview

Elevated reticulocytes are indicative of compensatory erythropoiesis due to haemolysis, recovery from anaemia or increased red blood cell requirement.
  • Causes of Reticulocytosis

  • Haemolytic anaemia
  • Haemorrhage (acute or chronic)
  • Recovery post bone marrow suppression
  • Late pregnancy
  • High altitude
