Overview
Ascites with a low SAAG (<1.1 g/dL) is suggestive of a non-portal hypertension cause of ascites.
Causes of Ascites with Reduced SAAG
- Infection - bacterial peritonitis, pancreatitis, TB
- Malignancy
- Nephrotic syndrome
