If the APTT is initially elevated but becomes normal when control plasma is added, this suggests that there is factor deficiency as the cause of coagulopathy.

- Congenital factor deficiency
- Von Willebrand disease
- Disseminated intravascular coagulation
- Supratherapeutic warfarin
