Respiratory rate greater then 20 breathes per minute.
Causes of Tachypnoea
- Physiologic - during exercise or at high altitude
- Anxiety
- Metabolic acidosis - abdominal pathology, sepsis
- Pulmonary embolism
- Pneumonia
- Asthma
- Respiratory failure
