Look For
- Redness beneath the conjuncctiva due to bleeding
Significance
- May be a sign of coagulopathy.
Causes of Subconjunctival Haemorrhage
- Idiopathic
- Ocular damage - trauma, contact lens use, surgery
- Vascular damage - hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis
- Conjunctivitis
- Conjunctival tumour
