Overview

  • Test For

  • Partial or complete tear of the posterior cruciate ligament.
  • How to Perform

  • Flex the hip to 45 degrees and the knee to 90 degrees, and sit on the subject's foot to stabilise it. Place both hands around the tibia with thumbs on the tibial plateau, and apply a posteriorly directed force onto the proximal tibia.
  • Abnormal If

  • There is more posterior displacement of the tibia on the affected side compared to the unaffected side.
