Indications for CVCs
- Administration of certain medications - high-dose potassium, vasopressors, TPN, certain chemotherapy
- Haemodynamic monitoring - central venous pressure
- Difficult peripheral venous access - with need for frequent blood samples
- Ongoing large transfusion requirement
