Varicose Veins

Overview
Varicose veins represent venous valvular insufficiency. They are relatively benign, though may lead to aesthetic issues, chronic pain, ulcers, dermatoses, bleeding or clot formation.
Look For
- Dilated, tortuous superficial veins within the legs. Erythema and tenderness may indicate clot formation (superficial thrombophlebitis).
