    • Mechanism of Action
    • Competitively inhibits the action of adrenaline and noradrenaline on both β1 and β2 receptors, resulting in suppression of the sympathetic nervous system.

Clinical Use

    • Indications
    • Hypertension – second line therapy, indicated for patients with heart failure
    • Prophylaxis of migraine
    • Essential tremor
    • Contraindications
    • Asthma
    • Decompensated heart failure
    • AV block
    • Adverse Effects
    • Fatigue / headache
    • Bradycardia
    • Postural hypotension
    • Vivid dreams
