Mechanism of Action
- Directly agonises GLP-1 receptors, resulting in glucose-dependant insulin secretion.
- Pharmacology
- Stimulates insulin secretion in hyperglycaemia, and Inhibits glucagon secretion in hyperglucagonaemia.
- Also results in delayed gastric emptying, appetite suppression and weight loss.
