    Sinemet 
    • Mechanism of Action
    • Levodopa - a dopamine precursor that is converted to dopamine, which is severely depleted within the striatum pallidum and substantia nigra in Parkinson’s disease.
      Benserazide - a decarboxylase inhibitor that inhibits peripheral conversion of levodopa to dopamine.
    • Pharmacology
    • Crosses the blood brain barrier.

    • Parkinson’s disease.

    • Involuntary movements
    • Nausea / vomiting
    • Confusion
