Mechanism of Action
- Insulin is an hormone normally produced by pancreatic beta cells that is responsible for regulation of glucose, fat and protein metabolism.

Clinical Use
- Indications
- Bolus dosing for type I or II diabetes
- Insulin infusion for perioperative hyperglycaemic management
- Insulin infusion for diabetic ketoacidosis
Contraindications
- Hypoglycaemia.
- Adverse Effects
- Hypoglycaemia
- Weight gain
- Hypersensitivity reactions
