  • Inhibits potassium channels on pancreatic beta cell membranes, resulting in calcium influx and thus insulin release.

  • Glycaemic control for type II diabetes - second line

  • Nausea / vomiting / diarrhea
  • Thrombocytopaenia / leukopaenia / haemolytic anaemia
