  • Mechanism of Action

  • Directly inhibits the binding of androgens to androgen receptors.
  • Pharmacology

  •  Interacts only with androgen receptors, producing no progestin or glucocorticoid effects.

Clinical Use

  • Indications

  • Androgen deprivation therapy for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer.
  • Contraindications

  • Seizure disorders.
  • Adverse Effects
  • Nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea
  • Gynaecomastia / breast tenderness
  • Hot flushes
  • Dizziness
  • Elevated LFTs
  • Osteoporosis (long-term)
