Mechanism of Action
- A beta lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Microbiology
- Effective against most staphylococci due to ability to resist breakdown by beta lactamase.

- Adverse Effects
- Hypersensitivity - urticarial rash, oedema, anaphylaxis
- GIT - nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea
- Thrombocytopaenia / leukopaenia
