- Mechanism of Action
- Selectively inhibits aromatase, preventing aromatization of androgens into oestrogens.
Clinical Use
- Indication
- Endocrine therapy for ER positive breast cancer.
- Contraindications
- Premenopausal patients (must be postmenopausal).
- Adverse Effects
- Hot flushes
- Vaginal dryness / bleeding
- Reduced libido
- Arthralgia / joint stiffness
- Headache
- Nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea / anorexia
- Rash
- Alopecia
- Osteopaenia
