    • An iron chelator that binds to iron molecules and forms a stable compound that is excreted by the kidneys.

Clinical Use

    • Indication
    • Severe acute or chronic iron overload.
    • Adverse Effects
    • Tachycardia / hypotension
    • Restrictive pulmonary disease
