    • Indications
    • Maintenance fluids
    • Dehydration
    • Fluid replacement for burns patients (via Parkland formula)
    • Contraindications
    • Fluid overload - congestive cardiac failure, severe renal impairment, excessive IV fluids
    • Lactic acidosis
    • Adverse Effects
    • Fluid overload – electrolyte abnormalities, oedema
