Mechanism of Action
- Inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 50s ribosomal subunit, resulting in inaccurate mRNA translation.
Microbiology
- Effective against staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci and most anaerobes.

- Severe gram positive infections:
- Upper / lower respiratory tract infections
- Skin infections
- Osteomyelitis / septic arthritis
- Septicaemia
- Adverse Effects
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea
