  • Selectively inhibits aromatase, preventing aromatization of androgens into oestrogens.

Clinical Use

  • Indications

  • Endocrine therapy for ER positive breast cancer.
  • Contraindications

  • Premenopausal patients (must be postmenopausal).
  • Adverse Effects
  • Hot flushes
  • Vaginal dryness / bleeding
  • Reduced libido
  • Arthralgia / joint stiffness
  • Headache
  • Nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea / anorexia
