Mechanism of Action
- Stimulates insulin secretion by inhibiting dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), an enzyme that normally degrades incretin hormones.
Pharmacology
- Stimulates insulin secretion in hyperglycaemia, and Inhibits glucagon secretion in hyperglucagonaemia.
