  • Mechanism of Action

  • Inhibits xanthine oxidase, which normally produces uric acid through oxidation of xanthine and hypoxanthine.

  • Indications
  • Gout - acute gouty arthritis, reduction in gouty tophi
  • Tumour lysis syndrome
  • Adverse Effects
  • Headache
  • Nausea / vomiting / diarrhoea
  • Hypersensitivity reactions
  • Rash
