Manifestations
Clinical Signs
- Calcinosis cutis: hard masses beneath the skin, due to calcium deposition
- Raynaud's phenomenon: areas of white, blue or red change in the hands
- Sclerodactyly: thickening of the fingers / toes
- Telangiectasia: visible dilated blood vessels
- Reduced oral aperture
- Nailfold abnormalities
- Tendon friction rubs (severe disease)
Complications of Scleroderma
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Scleroderma renal crisis
- Oesophageal dysmotility
- Pericarditis
- Arrythmias
- Erectile dysfunction
